The Friends of Wimbledon Chase Primary

image002The ‘Friends’ is the school’s parent teacher association.

For more than 15 years we have been an active part of school life, raising over £100,000. The money funds new equipment and sports facilities and contributes to trips and to special visitors (e.g. authors) enhancing your child’s educational experience.

But we aren’t just about fundraising. We also bring parents and staff together and encourage links with the local community.

Parents automatically become members of the Friends when their child joins Wimbledon Chase Primary School.

There are lots of opportunities to get involved, even if you don’t have much time to spare. Whether it’s joining our committee, helping at one of our events or coming along and having fun, your contribution is very welcome.

Family Day –  this annual summer fair is our biggest event with stalls selling a variety of wares, children’s inflatables and rides, lots of great food including a BBQ and an International Food stall, tombolas, raffles and much, much more.

Christmas Fair – a festive extravaganza of gifts, seasonal food, music and Santa’s Grotto. In 2015 the event raised £8,000.

fullsizerender-2Quiz Night – quizzical contest each year. Get a team together and flex your mental muscles over curry and wine.

Easter Egg Hunt – younger pupils scour the school grounds to win eggs and meet the Easter Bunny. Another fun day which raised £600 in 2016.

Riverford Scheme   –   during the last school year 2015/16 we secured an agreement with Riverford to help to raise funds for our school.  Riverford sells excellent quality organic fruit, veg, dairy and meat and delivers to your door.  If you sign up to the scheme then it raises money for the Friends and you save money too.  So far we have 18 families on the Scheme and have raised £230.
