Working with the Community

2014 Family Day08Working with the local and wider community is of high importance to us at Wimbledon Chase. The school is continually developing opportunities for community cohesion. Our annual Multi-Cultural week and International Evening allow children and parents from different cultures and ethnic backgrounds to come together and celebrate their diversity.

Wimbledon Chase has an excellent reputation in the local community and each year our school Family Day attracts a large number of local people.

The school also encourages children to help people in the local community by such things as organising collections for Harvest Festival and visits by the choir to the Wimbledon Guild Day Care Centre for Senior Citizens.

The children are encouraged to develop a sense of community by raising money for charity and good causes. This includes assisting charities around the world.

Some of the charities we regularly support are:

  • Love in a Box
  • Comic Relief
  • Children in Need
  • Fair Trade
  • Poppy Appeal
  • Super Schools Fundraising for the Olympics
  • Jeans for Genes

As part of our Extended School Services, we offer full Wrap Around Care from 7.45am to 6.00pm including a breakfast club, full day nursery provision and an after school club.

Our strong links with local secondary schools enable the children to benefit from their specialist areas such as ICT, Maths, the Performing Arts and Business Enterprise activities.
