School Profile

Wimbledon Chase Primary School serves the Wimbledon Chase area in the borough of Merton. It is a three form entry school and with over 640 children on roll, with an additional 104 sessional places in Nursery, including both full time and part time places. Children are able to access either 15 hours of provision, or 30 hours of provision for the core hours of 08:30am-3:30pm.

Whilst the school has a very strong community, pupil mobility is higher than national at 21%, when compared to the national figure (14%).* A key factor is that a number of families move in and out of the area on work place secondments. The percentage of pupils eligible for Pupil Premium is 6% (41) which is well below the national figure (23%).*

The percentage of children with special educational needs is 11.8% which is slightly lower than Merton average(12.9%). Whilst this figure includes the 26 pupils in the mainstream setting with Education Health and Care Plans, it does not include our Additional Resource Provision (ARP) that supports up to 16 children on EHCPs, primarily with Speech and Language provision and complex needs.

Children with English as an additional language is well above the national figure at 56% (national 21.2%).
