At Wimbledon Chase, we take absence and punctuality very seriously.
Research shows that children with high attendance (95% and above) make the best progress at school.
Parents should inform the school on each morning their child is unable to attend school by telephone or by using the absence function on the Parent App (Daily Absence) or by emailing absence@wimbledonchase.merton.sch.uk.
This notification should state the reason for absence and give some indication of a return date, whenever possible.
In addition, on returning from absence, if the absence is for more than five school days, the child should bring a written note from parents or guardian indicating the reason for absence.
Holidays are not permitted during term time, including visits to sick relatives, meeting up with family who live abroad, holidays due to a parent’s work/holiday time, weddings etc.
If for any reason you need to take your child out of school during term time you will need to fill out a request form for Leave of Absence at least 10 days before the requested start date (including for visits to other schools, Religious observances and Visa and Passport visits).

The Headteacher will then consider each case individually.
