House System
The House System has been a valued part of everyday life at Wimbledon Chase since the school was established. Every child from Year Reception to Year 6 is a member of one of our Houses. We operate a ‘House System’ with five Houses named after inspirational “House Heroes” chosen by the children themselves. Each House has its own shield designed by the children.

Purpose
At Wimbledon Chase we feel that it is important to build a sense of belonging both within and across the age ranges. The House System fosters and supports positive relationships and contributes to a sense of wider community. As a large three-form entry school, we are keen that children across the school should get to know one another in smaller social groups and to feel part of our School Family. Working in this way the House System is a key vehicle for our Cornerstones Curriculum - Cognition, Collaboration, Community and Character, and supports our status as a Rights Respecting School.
The children participate in a wide range of events across the year from Inter-House sporting competitions to activity workshops to fundraising, each House being linked to its own charity. The aim being to build a greater sense of confidence and independence in the younger children, and one of responsibility and guidance amongst the older pupils.
House Ambassadors
Each House has four Year 6 Ambassadors, who apply for their posts in the Autumn and Spring Terms, allowing for leadership opportunities to be shared across the final year at primary school. Regular meetings are held and chaired by the House Ambassadors, in order to discuss, organise and promote House events. The minutes of each meeting are shared with the school on the House Ambassadors’ notice board.
